The short version
No accounts, no sign-in, no cookies. We never store your IP address. What you type in the Bhadaas box never leaves your phone. Names you type for a link or a leaderboard are public, so don't use your full name.

What we store on our servers
- Spit counts per day, per city and per target or mudda. The city comes from Cloudflare's guess of where a request comes from; we only add 1 to that city's counter. The IP address itself is not stored.
- Names you type for a Thook-bhejo link (with how many times and where you spat on the chalk face) or a leaderboard (with the city and the day). They are public: anyone with the link or looking at the leaderboard sees them. A link page is never listed in search engines.
- Votes for the next mudda, with a one-way hash of a random device code (see below), so one phone counts once. Vote hashes are deleted when the vote closes.
- Mudda suggestions you send us, with the city. Private: only we read them.
- Reports: what was reported, the reason you picked, and a one-way hash of the random device code (so one phone counts once).
What stays on your phone
In your browser's local storage: a random device code (not linked to you or your phone number), your own spit counts (today's, and the last three weeks' for the Sunday Thook Report card), your best Door tak distance, which mudda you voted for, a copy of the current mudda (so the home card shows at once) and settings such as sound on/off. Clear the site's data in your browser and it is gone. The Bhadaas box text is not saved anywhere, not even on your phone: it is gone when you spit on it or close the page.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies or tracking across sites. Nothing else: the spit counts above are all we look at.
Bot check
Votes, links, scores and reports use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks the browser for signs of a bot instead of showing a puzzle.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, database, storage, bot check, web analytics, email forwarding. Cloudflare sees your IP address to deliver the page and stop attacks.
How long we keep it
- Counters: kept. They are totals and say nothing about a person.
- Links and names: until removed. Reports from three phones hide a link or a leaderboard name until we review it; ask us and we delete it.
- Vote hashes: deleted when the vote closes. Suggestions: deleted within three months.
- Emails to hello@thook.de: as long as needed to answer.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted: write to hello@thook.de. We don't know who you are, so tell us the link or the leaderboard name. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
